Looking at Web Design Features.

In the group we discussed the website features early in the process, we started by trying to think of a few different ways of presenting the layout for the website. Dan drew some rough sketches for how we could start designing. Our problems were that we were thinking about the website in a commercial advertorial way.

One of the main features we initially discussed was that we were going to make the website as user friendly as possible as we wanted to encourage various age groups, with various technological skill sets to be able to use and navigate around the website.

Having a feature image on the home page was a joint decision by the group. After looking at the research which we did on web design for exhibition spaces.

Another main feature of the website was that we were going to use 'anchor points' in the website. This was a decision made because we agreed that having 1 main rolling page, similar to blog style, was easiest because it stopped the website from navigating to other pages. (a personal reason for this was based on a group members parent, their mum gets confused when using the internet because when she presses things she can't find her way back to the home page). This was one of the factors in the decision of using one main page for the majority of the information.

We made a decision that the archive feature in the website should be on a different page as it was a separate thing to the website.
