The Idea.

Prezi - Idea

As our idea generation was slow, we decided to think of an idea that responded to the brief.

Facebook live is fast becoming a useful tool on social media, it enables people to share live content on a wide scale quickly.

The idea was surrounding this method of sharing information and enabling there to be a platform for people to discuss topics. By using the comments and discussions from the public, we could use that data to create some typographical artwork or something similar. This then would be an artistic public response to the Discusrsive Documents exhibition.

In the image above there are pro's and con's to the idea to show that we thought about the idea using tools from the BBC workshops.

The idea has since developed and this has enabled us to think about 'setting the scene' for the live video themes. As a group and in tutorials we conversed about having the live feed recording the fortnightly events or just having the live feed take place in the final event.

We decided due to time restrictions it would be more achievable if we were to record the closing event as it would allow for us to plan and prepare. We discovered that to successfully achieve what we wanted to do we would have to look at coding a programme that would aid us in extracting the correct information from peoples comments to be able to creatively work with the data. The best chance of achieveing this would be to allow for as much time as possible.

One of the main outcomes from this idea was that it was a social inclusion idea. Previous to us getting to this point we had only thought about the website element, and how it would be more for promotional benefits. This idea allows for people who would not be able to access the exhibition and Facebook live opens up to a much wider audience.

This links in with the ideas regarding the website in terms of being as user friendly as possible, so anyone can use it, giving everyone an opportunity to voice and DISCUSS their opinions.
